Thought LGBT might be interested in this article. Dan Radcliffe talks about gay sex and homophobia.?
Yeah I don't have a question, but thought some of you might be interested in hearing about Dan Radcliffe (Equus, Harry Potter, December Boys) and the interview he did with Attitude magazine (a UK gay magazine).

You can find scans and read the full interview here:

Here are some highlights:

"I grew up around gay people entirely. I was the only guy in my class who had any experience of homosexuality or anything like that. My dad was an agent and represented Jonathan Harvey who wrote Beautfiul Things so I grew up knowing Jonathan and his partner and it was just never an issue...It suddenly became very weird for me to have people around me that were homophobic."

"I don't think they [his parents] ever sat me down, because it was just so normal to us. That was our friend Mark and Mark goes out with men not women."

"Then, there is all this stuff at the moment, which is hateful, about people being up in arms about the idea of gay sex education in schools. Hello!?! Actually, for one or two gays guys in the class, it's ******* vital!"

"I am actually quite passionate about this. I loate homophobia. It's just disgusting and animal and stupid and it's just thick people who can't get their heads around and it are just scared."

Just thought it was an interesting article and really gives hope. It's nice to see a young straight famous guy speaking out so much in favor of homosexuality. The article also talks about the fundraising efforts for AIDS that Broadway does and Dan's participation as a member of Equus.

Hope you enjoy the read and let me know what you think.
Wow, thats awesome to see him beyond his character in HP. He is definitely very mature and wise for his age. The guys who I see in my college dorm are incredible with making homophobic and racist comments, its horrible. Hopefully he can be a role model and encourage people to know that there is nothing wrong with being gay, and that you dont have to be gay to believe that.
What´s the name of this porn actor?
He´s the male star of the porn group Eurofucktrip.

galleries.eurofucktrip.com/001000…

His pics often show him having sex with 2 women. I haven´t seen him having gay sex yet (or even if he´s already done that). But I´d like to know his name to research about that and about him at all.
Do you know his name?
It's me
Dave

Gay men and lesbian women, would you feel comfortable or uncomfortable deeply kissing the opposite sex?
I have heard of a few gay actors who also like to play straight characters as well, which usually involves kissing the opposite sex as well (even though they are not attracted to the opposite sex).
I have a gay coworker who feels a bit "yechy" about kissing the opposite sex, and I have heard some lesbian women feel grossed out by kissing men. Though some do not feel uncomfortable/feel fine with it.

I'm perfectly comfortable kissing either gender. I love to kiss, and sad to say, a lot of women are better at it than most men. Guys do tend to make up for that small lack by being better at other things with their mouths though.
Why are the hot guys always turn up to be GAY?
Seriously, it makes me happy. I know it is because we generally take care of ourselves more than straight guys would, although not exclusively.

Well do we tend to take care of ourselves more because there is more sexual tension? Could it be an indication that gay people are more inclined to act on their urges or something like that? I'm not saying that gay people are sex centered but I can observe that as a gay guy myself, that we're like the hornier counterpart of straight boys.

Example:
My brother's girlfriend has a gay brother, he and this really gorgeous guy dated before:

www.chicowapo.com/wp-content/gall…

He's name is Brandon Stoughton, and he was in Britney's Womanizer.
I mean according to my brother he is incredibly good looking but is "such a princess".
Well, there was a (controversial) study done that found that gay men are half as likely as straight men to be overweight, and that lesbians are twice as likely as straight women to be overweight. The supposed explanation is that since men want an attractive partner, gay men and straight women work harder to impress, while women are more interested in personality so straight men and lesbians aren't as concerned with body figure because they don't necessarily need it to impress.

But outside of weight factors, sometimes attractiveness is just random and not related to sexuality, though that guy is hot. Grrr....

Gay and lesbian persons, do you find the opposite sex aesthetically nice to look at or do you feel indifferent?
Gay and lesbian persons, do you find good looking members of the opposite sex aesthetically nice to look at (admiring a good looking person or statue/painting, even if you are not sexually or romantically attracted)
or do you feel indifferent (don't really admire or like, does nothing for you) at looking?

I can say when a woman is good looking but I'm going to go for the guys every time.
Would some people call this being gay...?
I'm male but I prefer guys who look feminine or outright female.
And I prefer girls who look masculine or can be mistaken for men.

The peanut gallery says:
Since I like girly guys, the fact that I am attracted to those guys makes me gay.
But even though I like girls too, I prefer the ones who look like guys so that also makes me gay.

Well if this is being gay, then I must be gay. But I disagree, I am pansexual so gender and what people have between their legs is irrelevant to me.

I just happen to find people who look like the opposite sex appealing (this is not being gay).

If I was simply gay, I would ONLY like men and not ones who look feminine.

I am just confused by the people who adhere to the double standard opinion of crossdressers / transpeople and any guy attracted to them must be gay.
I respect that. Would never have judged you in the first place.

Vermont legalizes gay marriage with veto override

By DAVE GRAM, Associated Press Writer Dave Gram, Associated Press Writer – 2 hrs 1 min ago

MONTPELIER, Vt. – Vermont on Tuesday became the fourth state to legalize gay marriage — and the first to do so with a legislature's vote.

The House recorded a dramatic 100-49 vote, the minimum needed, to override Gov. Jim Douglas' veto. Its vote followed a much easier override vote in the Senate, which rebuffed the Republican governor with a vote of 23-5.

Vermont was the first state to legalize civil unions for same-sex couples and joins Connecticut, Massachusetts and Iowa in giving gays the right to marry. Their approval of gay marriage came from the courts.

Tuesday morning's legislative action came less than a day after Douglas issued a veto message saying the bill would not improve the lot of gay and lesbian couples because it still would not provide them rights under federal and other states' laws.

Douglas called override "not unexpected." He had called the issue of gay marriage a distraction during a time when economic and budget issues were more important.

"What really disappoints me is that we have spent some time on an issue during which another thousand Vermonters have lost their jobs," the governor said Tuesday. "We need to turn out attention to balancing a budget without raising taxes, growing the economy, putting more people to work."

House Speaker Shap Smith's announcement of the vote brought an outburst of jubilation from some of the hundreds packed into the gallery and the lobby outside the House chamber, despite the speaker's admonishment against such displays.

Among the celebrants in the lobby were former Rep. Robert Dostis, D-Waterbury, and his longtime partner, Chuck Kletecka. Dostis recalled efforts to expand gay rights dating to an anti-discrimination law passed in 1992.

"It's been a very long battle. It's been almost 20 years to get to this point," Dostis said. "I think finally, most people in Vermont understand that we're a couple like any other couple. We're as good and as bad as any other group of people. And now I think we have a chance to prove ourselves here on forward that we're good members of our community."

Dostis said he and Kletecka will celebrate their 25th year together in September.

"Is that a proposal?" Kletecka asked.

"Yeah," Dostis replied. "Twenty-five years together, I think it's time we finally got married."

Craig Bensen, a gay marriage opponent who had lobbied unsuccessfully for a nonbinding referendum on the question, said he was disappointed but believed gay marriage opponents were outspent by supporters by a 20-1 margin.

"The other side had a highly funded, extremely well-oiled machine with all the political leadership except the governor pushing to make this happen," he said. "The fact that it came down to this tight a vote is really astounding."

Also in the crowd was Michael Feiner, a farmer from Roxbury and gay marriage supporter, who took a break from collecting sap for maple syrup-making to come to the Statehouse.

"I'm taking a break to come and basically make sure that I was here to witness history," he said.

The House had initially approved the bill last week with a 95-52 vote. Smith and his leadership team worked through the weekend to try to persuade some legislators to change their minds.

One who did was first-term Rep. Jeff Young, D-St. Albans. He said he continued to be philosophically opposed to gay marriage, but decided that voting with his fellow Democrats would help him be an effective legislator in the future.

"You realize that, you know, it's a poker game in some ways," Young said. "Chips on the table. I'm a freshman. I have no chips. If I ... had 20 years of chips, I probably could play any card I want. I don't have that option."

He added, "It's the way the political game is played."
Gay marriage doesn't affect my life in any way ...so I really don't care .. and I live in Connecticut.
Can a gay man fall in love with a woman?
I am 30, an actor and for as long as I can remember I have seen myself as a gay man, even as a guy I knew. There was just never any doubt and all my relationships long term and short have been with men. I mean I like women and have many women friends but I was never attracted to one until now. She is 33 and an artist and we met at a gallery opening. We were introduced by mutual friends and right away I knew I was feeling something new and strange. I knew I liked her right away and wanted to see her as often as I could, we became good friends quickly and she accepted me as a gay male friend but I always knew that I felt something more for her but I suppressed it for a long time. I kept having relationships with men but while I enjoyed the sex I didn't feel anything for them.
The sexual attraction I feel towards her has been the most difficult for me to cope with, she believes I am fully gay and so we don't have the same boundaries as a normal male and female friendship which means we are physically closer and less modest together, she is very affectionate and I am frequently highly aroused by her but I have no idea how to seduce or make love to a woman.

It's so difficult, I've thought of breaking off all contact with her as it might be easier than than this preternatural love I feel for her. I love her and I want to be with her, but I'm a gay man. It's a huge risk to take with someone love so much, I could lose her altogether and that would kill me.

If only she were a gay man or I were straight but as it stands I just don't even know how to tell her how I feel. I think she is beginning to understand my feelings a little but she seems as confused as I am.

Has anyone else experienced this, how can we deal with it?
I myself have never experience this, and I'm only 19, but I constantly think about sexuality--it's just something that really interests me. I think that if you get caught on labels, you're just going to cause yourself more confusion and hurt. I think that sexuality is very fluid, and that some people who might consider themselves to be fully straight or fully gay would make an exception or two throughout their lives. Being with someone is more than just sexual attraction--as my self-proclaimed 'queer, gender-blind' friend puts it, you don't fall in love with a person's anatomy, you fall in love with their personality. So what if you're attracted to a woman now? Go with it, there's nothing wrong with it. In my book, and according to Kinsey, it's perfectly normal. I consider myself to be straight mostly, but there have been a few times when I could have made exceptions. Am I still straight? Who knows. I would try to do away with labels. If she's a good friend, then you can probably talk to her about your feelings without her being scared away. Just make sure you know how to present it to her before you actually do. Good luck!
